INTERACTION
CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING TASKS
1. CHAT
In
the book "Interação e aprendizagem em ambiente virtual" you can find
4 chapters on chat characteristics (Souza, page 15; Chaves, page 37; Fonseca, 74
and Soares, page 146)
Your task is:
1. Read
the chapters.
2. Go to any chat room to interact in
English during at least one hour. You can work during 15 minutes one day, half
an hour another day, etc, or one hour in just one day.
The following addresses are just
suggestions. You can choose another one.

(this is a Brazilian chat room, but you can find a space for English Speakers
there (just select "idiomas" on the left column)
3. See if you can find the
characteristics described by those authors. Write your conclusions and include
them in your portfolio. Don't forget to copy the chat session. (At least 3
pages)
2. DISCUSSION GROUP
a) Create a discussion group
in http://groups.yahoo.com/ and
include the address in your portfolio. To do that you must register yourself and
follow the instructions on the page.
b) Choose a group in http://groups.yahoo.com/ which
discusses, in English, any topic connected to education and join it. Read
some messages and analyze the interaction. In order to do that read the following
authors in
"Interação e aprendizagem em ambiente virtual": Pereira, page 86;
Alves, page 126 and refer to their texts in your analysis. Do not forget to
include copy of some messages in your analysis. (at least 3 pages)
