I´ve studied English at MAI school for 8 years and I gave up the course when I passed in `vestibular´. Studying some kinds of teaching methods, I could realize that MAI use Communicative Approach its teaching method. I remember that every Mondays the teacher spent the first ten minutes asking us how our weekend was. Everybody liked to talk.
Although we spoke many things wrong , teacher did not correct us all time. Reading about Communicative Approach, I could understand why she did it. If she had corrected us all time , we would had been shy to speak more, and it could affect our performance and our self-confidence.
When I was a teenager, I loved studying English because my classes were fun! I could speak about myself, teachers gave us many topics to discuss in groups, there were many games and videos to watch , all the activities that I did not have at elementary school.
I remember I felt pretty confident to speak in class, what is interesting is: I was a shy girl!
All characteristics of Communicative Approach that I read about, I´ve done as an English learner. Like, dicuss topics in pairs or groups, music games, role plays and others.
Teachers asked us to read some story books at home without looking meaning of words, and we used to do compositions at home, having the brainstorming activity first and after we organized our writing. I continue doing it until today. I thing it is an excellent method to write .
What I can conclude with my learning experience and my experience at my course at university is, each learner is responsible for his or her own language acquisition and each 
One choose different methods to learn. It is important to learner feeling confident and confortable in the method he/she is learning through.
