MY TIME LINE

I started to study English at first time in English Course (Fisk) in 1978, when I was in the seventh grade. In fact I liked English very much. So I studied stages 1 and 2. In 1984 i studied at Oxford English course (stages 3 and 4) In 1985 entered University and concluded my studies in 1999. In 1989 (stages 4 and 5 again at CCAA). In 1991, 1992, 1993 (stages 5 and 6))at Centro Linguas. In 1993 CULTURA INGLESA)Stages 5,6,7,and 9, and High I and II.

As we can see in my time line my studies were broken along this way. I had different experiences in different schools! In my opinion, it is a problem. It is most useful in any area to have only one methodology. On other hand, it was useful, because I have learned something of course. There were reasons to change so many schools, sometimes it was the cheapest, or nearest to my house, or work, and so on.

Well, in this sense there are some important points through this experience: As I said before the process of learning was broken, and I had a bad experience in some of these schools, as a student. For example, I was very shy (I have already been shy), I was in the 4 stage. A teacher said to me: bla, bla, bla .

And I just could repeat this word, and he said again : Tania bllbllll. I just shook my head, saying no. He became furious and I failed !!!!! I absolutly couldn"t repeat those fast, long structures. I was very , very tired, I had been working all morning, it was a Saturday. I was the oldest student in the classroom. Things like this were an obstacle for me. I remembered now, that I have always hated to memorize words, names, sentences. Maybe a lazy mind! I´m not sure. And I could have answered to the teacher: "I'm not well today " or “I face difficulties”. I didn´t return for long time to English courses. Only later.
That's the question, and a lesson as a teacher for me today. We must realize: What about our students? What about our students´ learning process time line since they started to have contact with a foreign language? How can we be useful in this process ? How is my English, in terms of helping my students? How can I motivate them? Is there any problem in their own lives that creates a barrier for them? On the other hand there was a good experience, but I'll comment next meeting, because I have "put" in my mind, but I have forgotten now... I am very busy. I have to go now. Ok teacher see you soon.
